Established in 1998 by Mary Holden-Hall. This studio is a staple for local and neighboring artists. Both hobbyists and professionals visit regularly to stock up on their ceramic supplies, share their recent clay experiences and get advice from the knowledgeable staff.

It is a home studio to many local ceramic artists who enjoy the collaborative experience of a co-working space.

Fat Cat is more than a studio with its vast selection of tools and supplies. Some brands we stock include: Mayco, Amaco, Spectrum, Laguna, Kemper, Mudtools, Xiem, and GR Forms.

We offer classes to educate new potters on this wonderful world. Our classes are also great for continuing potters who are ready to advance their skills to the next level. Membership is a perfect option for students who get hooked by pottery and want to access the studio 24/7.

Who we are

Fat Cat Pottery is a working studio and pottery supply store. We sell clays, tools, glazes, as well as equipment.

We have everything a potter could want in a large studio; electric wheels, kick wheel, slab roller, extruder, work tables, glazing area, and wedging table. Our co-working space is a creative community.

  • Yes! Our classes are all beginner friendly. The instructor will work with you wherever you are on your pottery journey to help you achieve your goals.

  • All prospective members must complete an application with us in the studio. The application include studio rules and best practices. If your experience aligns with how our studio works, then a membership may be a great option for you!

  • Our studio is for wet working only. We do not have pottery painting services here. Our classes are a great way to learn how to create a piece of your own.

CCCG represents over 100 ceramic artists from all over Southeastern North Carolina. Each year CCCG offers workshops for continuing education.”
